Barditus

Image
LOCATION : Germany

Status : Split-up
Music : Neofolk

MEMBERS :
Uwe Nolte : vocals, arrangement
Andreas Arndt : guitars, vocals, arrangement
Frank Schröder : drums, arrangement
Burkhard Raue : bass

HISTORY :
BARDITUS founded in 2004. The band's name is the word the ancient Roman historian Tacitus gave to the Germanic battle chants. The music itself is quite martial, which is one of the reasons they named theirselves Barditus. Their lyrics are mostly poems of well-known German poets, such as Joseph von Eichendorff (Klage!) or Felix Dahn (Die Letzten Goten).
