NEMUER released an animated music video for the track Sun God Ra’s Solar Barque from our ancient Egyptian album Going Forth by Day! It's a preview of their upcoming art-music film about the Book of the Dead made in collaboration with artist Klára Sedlo and Egyptologists. The lyrics are in ancient Egyptian with reconstructed pronunciation. As the sun sets, sun god Ra enters the underworld on his barque, accompanied by gods and the souls of the blessed dead.  Every night, his journey is challenged by Apophis, the serpent of darkness and chaos. When Ra triumphs, the reborn sun rises again. When he fails, the world falls into darkness.

AN DANZZA unveiled the first single taken from their upcoming album "Encantadas". The song "Moura" is inspired by the legend of the moura from Castro de Negros, in Galicia, which tells the story of an enchanted woman who can only be freed on the Night of San Juan (June 23rd) though no one has ever succeeded. To break the spell, the person must take a carnation from the mouth of the serpent while she coils around their body... a daring feat that only the bravest can attempt.

November 1st, 2024, you can expect RUNAHILD's track "Seidrúnar" revisited by the artist. She shared the following news  This is a long time dream come true! Ever since I started experimenting with electronic music I have been wanting to make a new version of my song Seidrúnar, mixing the old inspiration and organic instruments together with electronic beats and synthesisers. It has been a journey of trial and error that went on for years, with several drafts that either led nowhere or gave birth to entirely different songs instead… for the little anecdote, this is actually how “In Between Worlds” came to life. This is one out of several of my older songs that I am currently revisiting. All the songs are entirely re-recorded and re-arranged. The idea is to create new soundscapes, not just remix old projects. Hence I decided to come up with alternative titles for each one of those songs, additional to the original name. My aim is to release a full album later, or maybe an E

The last few years have been difficult for me as so much things happened in my personal life. Unplanned at origin, I had to log off for a while. And out of the Internet, I probably missed a lot of news, and new releases out now. Yet, I never gave up on this great music that I have been supporting with Sword Chant since 2007. Today, Sword Chant is back on track and will bring you Folk and Folk Metal news, as always. You can already look at the Releases page made of a very nice release listing - forthcoming releases and releases out now. Soon, that listing will be completed with articles showing releases content, and you can already see album/single titles and release date there.
