In 1967, he decided to change his name for a breton one:  Stivell that means "the old sources"(kozh stivelloù). He's a Brittany passionate person and the first one of the revival of the celtic harp. His compositions are about the recogntion of the celts culture and one  bigger brotherhood between people. His music influenced many artists worldwide, Folk metal bands included.
