The new GRIMNER video for the song "Ur Vågorna" now unleashed. The video itself was shot on a stormy day in late autumn, and was a challenge to record, but none had it tougher than the man portraying Tor himself: Kalle Lane. He was a true champion, as you will see in the video! The song taken from Urfader album deals with a battle between the thunder god Tor (Thor), and his adversary Jörmungandr (the world serpent) living in the ocean and encircling our world.  Ufader album was released last year. Awaiting the new GRIMNER album " Vanadrottning ”, the band released a new single titled "Fafnersbane" featuring  Erik Grawsiö ( Månegarm ). You can get the song here .

The new  GRIMNER  album's called "Vanadrottning” (translates to “queen of the Vanir”), referring to the goddess Gullveig from the Norse mythology. She is known mostly from the tale of the war between the Aesir and the Vanir, when she was captured and burned alive by Oden and his hird. Each time they burned her she would be born anew, dying three times and resurrected three times, each time in immense agony. GRIMNER  is currently working on their new album that celebrates the 10 years of the band. Some special guest will be on the record planned to be released by next year. Ylva Svedenman (violin) and Erik Grawsiö (vocals - Månegarm ) will feat. on the album. Touring in Europe is planned too. Last but not least, Martin Welcel is the new vocalist and guitar player in the band.

Marcus Asplund Brattberg decided to leave his band. A new member to be revealed soon. "Dear fans and friends,  It is with much sadness that I, Marcus, have decided to leave Grimner.  I have done what I set out to do - to play at great venues, big festivals and to release albums. The touring life is something that I personally can never grow accustomed to, which is one of the reasons I am leaving. After 7 year. of both strife and joy, it is time for me to devote myself to other things. I will continue to play and record music, so you have not seen the last of me. I want to thank all of my fans for your endless support. I also want to thank my fiancée Hannah, my friends and my family for supporting my musical endeavors and for putting up with me going away and being the master of rain checks. The record is entitled "Frost Mot Eld". "The new concept album will tell you an epic story of two sides, the Enhärjar empowered by the icy winds of Asgård and the Sons of Surt fueled by the fires of Muspelheim. The answer will be known from September 18th since their next record is one EP 100% Acoustic! The EP is entitled "De Kom Från Norr" and means "They Came From The North". All lyrics are from the North : Swedish! You can pre-order this upcoming Extended Play at their Bandcamp page.  First 25 copies sold will be signed by the band.

After their first European tour, I interviewed Marcus Asplund Brattberg from GRIMNER band who released their debut album  Blodshymner earlier in this year. First of all, can you explain us how was born the GRIMNER project & why have you chosen this bandname ? The band Grimner was born from the ashes of Ted’s and Henry’s previous band, which was oriented more towards melodic death metal. The funny thing was that the name “Grimner” was not taken by any other band we found, and we thought that it was a perfect name for us.

The debut album entitled " Blodshymner " (Hymns of Blood) by GRIMNER is released since today. You can purchase in their Bandcamp page and as a reminder if you didn't do it yet : you can download for FREE "A Call for Battle" EP to the same page!
