YOMI released their new album titled "Land of the Rising Sun". Land of the Rising Sun by Yomi

YOMI unveiled "Reduced to Ashes" song that will be available in the upcoming album titled "Land of the Rising Sun". The band comments :  "this is the story of the first strike of the Mongolian invasion - a raid on Tsushima, in which the local defenders sacrificed their lives to buy vital time for the mainland warriors to prepare". 

YOMI  unveiled lyrics video for the seventh track of their new album titled Genpei .

YOMI band I interviewed late July now released their second album "Genpei". It will soon be available for ordering at Soundage Productions , their label. The album is based on the history of the Genpei War (1180-1185). It was a war between the Taira (Heike) and Minamoto (Genji) clans, who vied for power in the realm. Many scholars consider the Genpei war to be the first true samurai war, which established the samurai as the ruling class of Japan. The war ended with the destruction of the Taira and the establishment of the Kamakura shgunate or bakufu - a military government, the power of which would surpass that of the Emperor for many years to come. Here comes one interview with   Artiom from  YOMI . We discussed about the past and future of the band. 01. Hi Artiom! Back in 2013, the Japanese Folk Metal band from Latvia, YOMI, was born. How did this project come to life ? Hello ! In a way, the band had started quite a while ago, some 7 years ago. I have always been interested in Asian cultures, Japanese especially, and when 7 years ago I started playing music and discovered folk metal, I almost immediately thought that it would be cool to combine folk metal with Japanese traditional melodies. I also tried to actually do that, but did not succeed due to the lack of musical experience, and abandoned the idea for a while. Around 2013 my previous band fell apart and I also moved to another city, so I thought that maybe it was a good time to start something new. And this is when I remembered that I had had this Japanese folk metal idea in the past, and finally decided to make it come true. So I started looking for...

YOMI  unveiled some explanations regarding the tracks titles for  " Age of the Gods ", their debut album. 01. The August Countenance of Amaterasu Amaterasu-omikami (天照大神) or Ōhirume-no-muchi-no-kami (大日孁貴神) - is the goddess of the Sun and the ancestor of the Royal family of Japan. She, along with Tsukuyomi the Moon and Susano-o the Storm, is also one of the so-called 'three illustrious children', upon whom Izanagi-no-Mikoto, the Creator of the Land, bestowed the right to rule in the Heavenly Plain. 02. Yamato-Takeru Prince Yamato-Takeru was a royal general in the legendary period of the Japanese history (there are also some doubts about whether he was a real or a mythical character), most famous for his successful expeditions to various provinces of the archipelago. This is the first official video for the band YOMI . The chosen track is the 7th one from "Age of the Gods" demo: one track inspired by the story of O no Yasumaro .
