With the help of the UTMARKEN frontman on Nyckelharpa, ASH OF ASHES released their Acoustic version of the Norwegian traditional folk tune titled "Springar" that is also featured on the album "Down the white waters" One short story about : "when Skaldir prepared the backing tracks for the gig at Ragnarök 2019, this song suddenly started playing without the drums and electric guitars and it sounded amazing! With a little more work on the arrangement it just sounds too good to keep from you. Thanks again Mathias Gyllengahm for playing the Nyckelharpa on this one. On top of that, this is a little sign of life from us before we finish the new album. More on that soon" , the band added. Springar (Acoustic Version) by Ash of Ashes

UTMARKEN  unveiled the artwork for their upcoming album " Förfallstid ". The band added : Förfallstid is in the final stages. First mastered tracks from Kalthallen studios have arrived, and despite all uncontrollable circumstances in the process... I now know Förfallstid will be a powerful album! Another important piece of the puzzle is the cover, which also is finished and I am, to put it mildly, not just a litte amazed and honoured to have received help with it by Thomas Väänänen, ex-vocalist in Thyrfing and veteran of the swedish scene, whose heavy metal ears are much, much more experienced than my own. That is a big thing to me personally.

"Since people got caught in the doom and gloom on last post and apparantly didn't read the last line "This is not the end" ... let's make a special announcement today, continuing the introduction to "Förfallstid ".  Track #5 . Bröder i strid. Brothers in battle. Probably the most non-folkish track on next album, more of a power-metal hymn that celebrates brotherhood. If everything should fail (and it won't) worst case is that next album will sound something similar to this. Observant followers have already noticed that an excerpt of this track can be heard in one of the episodes of "Utmarken-TV" ,  UTMARKEN   said. Bröder i strid by Utmarken It was the previous announcement of the band : Important announcement (regarding Utmarken anyway, this has little effect on the overall global schemes of the world). Utmarken in its current form seems to be coming to and end. Members have decided to quit, no hard feelings for all I know, and ...

UTMARKEN  shared the following news : With only 6 months since the first release, it is time to take a sneek peek into the future: "Förfallstid" is building up in a rapid pace. The word "Förfallstid" is an old expression, whose literal meaning is "Time of decay", and in northern Sweden it stands for a time period between winter and spring when the ice is not possible to walk upon, nor has it melted so it is possible to put a boat in, for fishing. This time period it is not possible to hunt, fish, plant, nor pull timber from the woods etc... and back in the days the only thing people could do was to wait. Wait, prepare and hope the period was short. That the food supplies would not run out. Wait for spring to arrive so they could put down the seeds for the coming growth period. Förfallstid is a time of great uncertainty. Though nothing is written in stone right now, the working hypothesis looks like this:
