Sword Chant

I interviewed a new band hailing from Kraków, Poland. Their name is VAILOS. 01. Hi Monika, hurdy gurdist of the band, why that bandname ? I was thinking for a long time about the right name. I’ve always wanted it to be connected with wolves, as I have always been fascinated with these mysterious creatures, so I’ve decided VAILOS will be the best one.  It means ‘wolf’ in ancient Celtiberian and Proto-Indo-European language. It also is short, sounds nice and is easy to remember, what is a huge advantage.  02. When was founded the band and how did the idea emerge ? The band in its current form was founded at the end of 2021 (that’s why sometimes we put that number above our picture logo), but the work had started much earlier. I am the main founder of the band, I worked very hard on estabilishing it. We had many difficulties in finding right line-up, for few years many people were joining only to go away, but here we are! “The Hanging Tree” is a song that sets a violent darker tone as we dive deep into the core of the story narrated in the second part of the “Reader of the Runes” trilogy. If “Rapture” was more epic, slow paced and filled with many different shades and textures, “The Hanging Tree” is a merciless fast cavalcade that goes straight to the point with a heavy fast riffing, melodic yet aggressive vocals, big choirs in the chorus, two insane guitar solos and a folk break in the middle that our dear EK fans will definitely love. It will surely be a highlight in our forthcoming live shows - Elvenking The track is part of the forthcoming " Reader of the Runes - Rapture " album.
