I interviewed the band IMMORGON

I interviewed Axel Jordana from the band IMMORGON
Axel teaches us more on the band, but also on what is coming soon. :)

01. Hi! You founded IMMORGON in 2012 and released already one single. How did the Spanish & worldwide people like this single ?
After sending the single, we received several messages both from people in Spain and from around the world congratulating us, it was amazing! We were very glad to hear that people around the world did like our first song.

02. IMMORGON has been created under what ideas ?
IMMORGON was born under the idea of creating a band were all the members could do what they like most: music. We like to listen to more or less the same bands and, so it was nice to create a band were we could express what we felt.

03. What means the band name for you ?
For me, IMMORGON means much more than a mere band name. It means a family where we work hard but always with humour and full of good moments that I’ll keep forever. IMMORGON has offered me the opportunity of fulfil my dream of having a band and play live. I will always thank my bandmates for this.

04. how’s your music with IMMORGON perceived in live by the Spanish people ?
We have played mostly in the area of Barcelona, where folk and Viking metal are rather popular by now and people like to discover a new band, and if this band is from Barcelona too, it’s even better.

05. Have you already shared the stage with some bands known in Spain or in the world ?
We have the pleasure to say that we have shared stage with great bands such as NORTHLAND or ANKOR, which are rather famous in Europe for having played in some festivals there. We have also shared stage with bands known in our country such as AESBARD, WARGAZ or FROZEN SHIELD.

06. Do you have some gigs planned for the next year ?
We have some gigs planned but first of all we must find a new drummer to be able to play in these gigs. So far, we will attend a couple of festivals and some gigs to present our first demo and the new drummer.

07. You are working on the first demo of the band now. What are the next steps
until you release it ?
We must finish recording all the parts, for the main instruments are already recorded but there are some details left. By the 2nd week of January it should be finished and then, we will work on the sound of the whole demo. We will work as hard and fast as we can to have it ready as soon as possible.

08. Will "The Everchosen" demo be available for free download ? Are physical copies planned as well ?
It will be free, for we want to upload the whole demo to YouTube and band camp. This is the way we think it will be easier for everyone to listen to it. We need it to be spread around the world and internet is the best tool for us. Physical copies are planned and as soon as we have the demo we will do some to send, give in gigs and who knows, maybe someone wants to help us by giving some euros for it!

09. Do you have a release date to give us ?
We plan to have the demo finished by the first week of February. Then, we’ll see what happens with the physical copies, but we should have it by the end of the same month. So I guess February will become IMMORGON’

10. Can you also share with us the track list, and the artwork for the demo ?
The artwork will remain unknown by now for we still have to work a bit on it, but it is almost finished. The track list is the following:
1) Einherjars
2) Eternal Viking
3) The Everchosen

11. Why have you entitled your first demo as "The Everchosen " ?
Because we felt it was a good title to start with. For us it means a lot of effort and we have great expectations on it. The song with the same name is about a warrior chosen by the gods themselves to lead a mighty army to glorious battles, and we expect ourselves to fight for the band as much as him, so, could there be a better name?

12. Are some guests on the upcoming demo as support ?
We will have a guest from NORTHLAND’s Pau Vázquez, who will be playing the violin in Eternal Viking.

13. Are the lyrics in English ?
All the lyrics are in English, but we don’t put away the idea of having a song in Catalan.

14. What are the main topics of songs ?
The main topics of our lyrics cover a wide spectrum of subjects: from Nordic and Germanic mythology to Warhammer.

15. Are you working on ideas and songs for the debut album of the band too ?
We have worked on many songs and we think that we have enough songs to release a full length album, but we must wait now and finish the demo first. We have to work out the new songs to make it better. We want to keep surprising our fans and all the people who will come across our demo.

16. I guess that is too early to tell but when would you like it to be released ?
We would like to have it now, but for economic issues is impossible for us to record a full length album now. But maybe in few months we find a way to make it possible.

17. Is IMMORGON ready to tour in Europe now ?
By the moment we don’t think so, but we are now working on some festivals which will give us experience and more public, so we hope in a near future we’ll be able to start touring abroad.

18. What would you like to tell to our community ?
We’d like to thank every single one who support us and give us the strength to keep working hard. It means all to us. We would like to thank also the help given by webs and blogs like Sword Chant, which help us and spread the word. Keep on doing what you do and we won’t let you down.
And for those who don’t know us, check us out and follow us in Facebook and Twitter to stay tuned.
