STWORZ explains their band name
STWORZ stated the following regarding their band name :
"Since the creation of Stworz in September 2007 we have never really thought about this topic, but it seems that every now and then a question of how to spell our name properly is causing some confusion among our non-polish supporters. So, here's an explanation:Stworz should be pronounced (approximately) STVOSH. And no, this name does not come from Polish or Slavic folklore, but from the works of Czesław Białczyński merely based on actual mythology and folklore; nor does it mean "to create" (pol. "stworzyć" or "stwórz" in imperative mood), as some have suggested, because there is no such word as "stworz" in Polish language. It is just the name of creature from Białczyński's universe, albeit closely related to words like "stworzyć" (to create) or "stworzenie" (a creature). Hope this will be helpful".
