there he stood so tall, the mountain king from the north
with a yearning sence
a maid from the village he snared to his halls
with wizardry
and the virgin she rides with the wind in her hair
as fair and beautiful as a fairy
the stars they twinkle on the path she travels
in secret she meets her beloved
she falls into lethargy with eyes of stone
in his cold embrace
his magic is strong, for thousands of years
she will be fettered
at sunset she dresses with golden delight
to honor her king
in the darkest chamber she attends to stand bride
with her mountain king

1. In Norse mythology, a fylgja (Old Norse, literally "someone that accompanies,"plural fylgjur) is a supernatural being or creature following a person in connection to their fate or fortune. Fylgjur usually appears in the form of an animal and commonly appears during sleeping, but the sagas relate that may appear while a person is awake as well, and that seeing one's fylgja is an omen of one's impending death. However, when fylgjur appear in the form of women, they are mean to be guardian spirits for people or clans
